Bülbül

Beyaz noktalı ve kırmızı şapkalı bir bülbül

Heybetli ağaçta şarkı söylüyor

Cikcik... cik... cik...

Düşüncemin kafesini çekiyorum hızla

Korkarak kuşun kaçmasından.

Tam çekmeyi bitirdiğimde, havalanıyor kuş,

Kucaklıyorum güneşli, rüzgârlı çerçeveyi;

Yeşil ana dal hızla onu takip ediyor.

Bir iz bırakmadan kayboluşundan anlıyorum,

Daha sonra gagalamaya geri gelecek bülbül

Solucanları, olgun kırmızı meyveyi.

Her su damlası

Benim saflığım

Cikcik... cik... cik...

Dönmesine gerek yok artık kuşun--

Şimdi o kuşun şarkısını daha iyi duyuyorum.

Dere Yatağındaki Kaya

Sessiz ol su akıyor

Kayanın üstünde hızlı, derin, sonsuz, buzlu.

Bahar orada mı?

Çiçekli bezek patikaya tırmanıyor

Kuşların sesi yankılanıyor çağıldayarak

Kaya, gölge yahut güneş üstünde ağaçların gölgesi titriyor--

Yabani çiçeklerin renkleri nasıl sonsuza dek zarar görmez?

Aksın diye üstünden su, taş sakince gözlerini yumuyor.

Langurlar* kül rengi baldırlarıyla

Ağaç gölgelerinin aşağı yukarı salınmasına yol açıyorlar

Nazikçe çiseleyen yağmur, dağınık sinekleri

Kayanın en derin yarığına sürüklüyor.

Bulutlar bulutların olduğu yerde duruyor...

Olgun guavanın** hoş kokusu orman boyunca sürüyor

Bir kirpi dikenlerini kabartıyor, sakince gidiyor.

Herşeyden önemlisi bu anda

Sen neredeysen orada duralım kıpırdamadan

Ay Mevsimi

I.

Ay öteki tarafına döndü

Üzerinden sarkan başka öpücüklerle;

Bir sis perdesi, başka otların kokusuyla.

Bir kanal kıyısındaydı

Köprüye karşı küçük bir kayığın silueti

Gece yarısı damla damla düşen ay ışığının

Garip terlemesini duymak için uzanan kayalı sahil.

Ellerin ayı arıyor.

Gecenin her parmağı bir parıltı,

Saf bir anayol

Bir rayihanın soluğunu uyandırıyor.

Günden taşıyor sesin yayı

Ayla birlikte giderek, konuşarak onunla ve gülerek,

Onun saydam rengine boğularak.

II.

Yankılıyor yapraklar dolaşık ot dalgalarını

Ormanın kendisinden bile saklı o dağ doruklarında;

Öyle gergin ki suyun yüzü geçemiyor hiçbir dalga;

Yalıçapkını sırtının kıvrak renkleri

Beni ayın kanadına dönüştürüyor.

Ellerimle yol gösteriyorum sana, çiçekten elbiseni tersyüz ediyor rüzgâr;

Öpüyorum seni, serçe parmağım

Seni aya kaldırıyor.

Topuklarımın altında yükseliyor güzel hava,

Göğsün toprağında atıyor bir kalp,

Bir ay ışığı ırmağı dalga dalga yükseliyor ağaç gövdesinden.

Hızla süzülerek, ayak izlerim

Yeryüzünü aydınlatıyor, ellerim uzuyor yeryüzü boyunca.

Yavaşla artık, dinle beni:

Tüm sokaklar, ilçeler, yamaçlar, haliçler

Tüm mısır tarlaları, çeltik tarlaları öğreniyor gülmeyi, şarkı söylemeyi...

III.

Geri döndü güvercin,

Getirerek ikindiyi

Çırparak kanatlarında:

Gri kuş tüyü elbiseli ikindi,

Boynunda ve tepesinde beyaz bir lekeyle,

Küçücük ayak tırnaklarıyla, adım attı aya.

Baş döndürücü ve aydınlık gün

Boynunu bükmüştü el değmemiş çiçeğin üzerine

Nazikçe kapatarak onu:

İşte aşk yapılacak zaman,

Karanlık toprağı aydınlatmak için;

Polenin ve doğumun, tohumların birleşmesinin kadim mevsimi,

Gece ayının uykulu tutkusu.

Eski kök kalıntılarını kavrayarak,

Rüzgârlı tepede gözlerini kapatarak,

Çamura düşüyor tohumlar, patlıyor mayalanarak.

Değişecek yarın bu yeryüzü

ve tüm dünya

Rüzgâr Tepesi

I.

Sürünüyor bir kayanın keskin ucunda

Çizikler içinde rüzgârın bedeni

Rüzgârın kanı yağmur

Gün ışığı damlıyor

Dağlar öpücükleri yukarılara yuvarlıyor

Gri bulutlar parçalara bölünüyor

Dağlar açıyorlar kucaklarını, ayaklarını vurarak

Ufalanarak kırıntılar içinde

Ayır parçalara rüzgârın bedenini

Yıldızışığı düşüyor

Birden açılıyor sabah

Bir parıltı hâlinde yokuşun tepesinden

Açık göz bakıyor aşağılara

Yükseklerde yığılıyor öpüşler

Çıldırmış rüzgâr yuvarlanıyor öteki tepede.

II.

Tohum ekmek için ağzını arıyorsun

Uçuruma hızla düşen toprağın bacaklarına

Nazikçe yapışıyor rüzgâr

Tepelerin ve dağların bağırsakları çürümüş

Rüzgârın göğsü sürükleniyor

Oynayarak yerde

Bir parıltıyla yarılıyor kabuk

Tohumun ağzından bahar taşıyor

Beklerken filizin sürmesini

Rüzgâr götürüyor toprağı uzaklara.

III.

MVP

Bir dağ keçisinin ayakizi yumrukluyor yeryüzünü

Şimdiden sonra uyuyamaz artık dünya

Her varlığın meşgalesi var, gecenin çiyinde coşkulu

Uzun ot yaprakları, ağaç yaprakları, pırıl pırıl dağ doruğu

Güneşte parlıyor,

kuşlar yalçın kayalıklar üstünde uçuyor

Geçip gidiyor süratli nehir, kızışmış balık görünüp kayboluyor suda.

Duvarın öbür tarafında parlıyor güneş

Altında bu yaprak kemerinin, kuş yuvalarının, ufkun nefesinin.

*

Bu seherde yalnızca gülü görebiliyorum;

Kuş cıvıltılarının sesi uyanıyor

Bana rehberlik eden yol sayesinde.

*

Kuşun ötüşü tepemi deliyor,

giriyor bedenime ben sukhavati'ye** doğru ölüp giderken

Sessizce ruhu kovuyor ötüşü

her taraftan boş zihne geliyor.

Kuş ötüşü, gölgeli, titrek

hafifletiyor her bölgesini bedenin,

Kuş sürüsüyle birlikte uçuyorum, öyle geliyor bana

gergin göğsüm, ötüşün sesinde boğuluyor.

İncinen hangi kuş?

Tüm orman sınırı kanatlarını çırpıyor--

Neredesin

Ses telaşla esen rüzgârı kesiyor

ağzım itaat ediyor çağrının şekline.

*

Şafağın yanında uyanıyorum

Gecenin çanları toprağı kaplıyor

El yordamıyla yoklayarak kalkmaya çalışıyorum.

Kocaman geceye asılı kalacak yer yok,

Bir çan sesine nerede dönüştüğünü bilmiyorum.

Eriyerek,

Kaygan

Mumu tutuşturuyor bedeninin en ilgi çekici noktası

Baştan başa bedenimdesin muğlak.

Aç gözlerini, kara çanın rengi

Kaldırıyor ışığın kuşatmasını.

Uzaktasın çandan

Gong....

Gong...

Havanın ortasında bir kasımpatı.

*

Yolun sonuna git

*

Gün ışığında uyku bastırınca kedi

Yarı açık gözlerle esniyor

Hayat her teşebbüsümü suya boğdu.

İş başında yorgunum:

Önceden tanımlanan bir plan üzerinde çalıştım

Bitirmedim onu da.

Kediyi mi suçlamalıyım

Aklımı çeldiği için güneşli hülyasına?

Uyan, hemen, atlayacağım sana

Ve olacağım o gözleri yarı kapalı kedi.

*

Rüzgâr nazikçe sallıyor sarı çiçekleri, sevdiğim çiçek rengini.

Bazen yabani ayçiçeklerinde bir anlaşmazlık oluyor,

fundalık, amberçiçeği ve ipliksi kavun çiçeği tomurcuğunda...

Acele içinde bazı çiçekleri kabaca çiziyorum

rüzgârın eli saçlarımda geziniyor

Bir çift ekliyorum, bir kız bir erkek, her küçük sapın üzerine

birleştirerek yüzleri, bir sandaleti paylaşan

belli değil rüzgârın onları hangi yöne sürüklediği.

Kocaman bir yaprak başımdan aşağı sarkıyor

rüzgâr hafifçe ikisini birleştiriyor

küçük olan titriyor fırtınadaymış gibi.

*

Yıldızlar doğuyor gün ışığının arkasında

Evin penceresinde

Fırtına haberlerinin bulutları geliyor

Şimşek çakıyor uzaklarda

Yalnızca onu düşünmek yahut adını anmak gideriyor yorgunluğu

Hemen şu an, sakin ve sessiz

kendimin kendisini dinlemesinin feshi bir andı

yaşama bakarken rahat ve kör.

Semavi gökte ateşböceği sürüsü

o yakın yıldızlar, çizecekler gözlerini

(sevin birbirinizi, çoğu zaman hatırlamayın yüzlerinizi).

İş yine arapsaçına döndü, kesildi nefesim.

Oyalanıyorum dar kapının ardında

ışıltılı su dalgasına bakıyorum hızla akan ırmakta.

The Bulbul

A bulbul with white spots and a red hat

Sings on the towering tree:

Tee-whit…whit…tee-whoo...

Quickly I draw a cage of thought

Afraid the bird will fly away.

Just when I finished the drawing he took off,

I hugging the sunny frame, the windy frame;

The green bough quickly chased after him.

In his disappeared without a trace, I think

Later on the bulbul will be back to peck the worms,

The ripe red fruit.

Every drop of water

Is my purity

Tee-whit…whit…tee-whoo...

The bird needn’t fly back again--

I hear that birdsong now quite clear.

The Rock Inside Stream Bed

Be quiet for water flowing

Swift, deep, unending, icy cold over the rock.

Is there the Spring?

Festoon climbing the trail

Voice of birds resounding down gurgling

Shadows of trees tremble on the rock, shade or sun--

How can the colors of wildflowers could unscathed forever?

The stone closes its eyes in calm to let the water sweep across it.

Langurs with ashen thighs*

Cause the tree-shadows again to bob and rise;

Gentle drizzling rain disordered flies

Creeping into the deepest crevices.

Clouds stop where the clouds...

The fragrant odor of ripe guava creeps through the forest

A porcupine ruffles up its quills, goes still.

Above all in this moment

Let’s stay put at the spot where you are at

Moon Season

I.

The moon lay back on its other side

Overhanging other kisses;

A curtain of fog, the smell of other grass.

It was by a canal:

The silhouette of a small boat against the bridge

The rocky shore lying still to hear the strange sweat

Of midnight moonlight falling drop by drop.

Your hands are searching for the moon.

Every finger of the night is a glitter,

A pure roadway

Awaking a breath of fragrance.

The string of sounds overflows the day,

Going along with the moon, laughing and speaking moon,

Choking forth its transparent color.

II.

The leaves re-echo the waves of the tangled grass

In that place hidden from even the mountain heights, the forests themselves;

The water’s skin stretched tight so no waves pass;

The lissome colors of the kookaburra’s back

Transform me to a flap of moon.

I lead you by the hand, the wind flips up your flower dress;

I kiss you, my little finger

Lifts you up to the moon.

The good weather rises under my heel,

A heart throbs in the land’s chest,

A stream of moonlight billows around the trunk.

Gliding faster, my footprint

Brightens upon the earth, my hand lengthens along it.

Slow down now, listen to me:

All the streets, the districts, slopes, estuaries,

All the cornfields, the paddies are learning to laugh, practicing to sing...

III.

The pigeon was back,

Bringing along even the afternoon

Clasped in its wings:

An afternoon dressed in grey plumage,

With a white compartment at its neck and crown,

With very tiny toenails, and it steps up to the moon.

The day, dazzling and radiant

Droops on the virgin flower

Tenderly shutting it down:

This is the time to make love,

To light up the dark territory;

The ancient season of pollen and birth, the seeds’ combining,

Slumberous passion in the late night moon.

Clasping the knees of the old stumps,

Closing their eyes on the windy hill,

The seeds fall in the mud, fermenting, loosed.

Tomorrow this earth

And the whole world will change.

Wind Crest

I.

Crawling on sharp top of the rock

Body of the wind is scratches

Blood of the wind is rain

Sunshine dripping down

Mountains roll the kiss up high

Gray clouds cast into block

Mountains open wide the arms, trampling the feet into ground

Crushing up into fragments

Tear off body of the wind into pieces

The starlight falling

Morning bursting out

Up to the top of slope in a flash

Open eye looking down

The kisses heaping up higher

The frenzy wind rolls up on another crest.

II.

Finding your mouth to sowing

Wind tender clinging the limbs of land

Plunge down to the abyss

Rotten the bowels of hills and mountains

Chest of wind drifting

Playing on the ground

The shell cracked flashing

Spring overflowing the grain mouth

Waiting to sprout the cotyledons

Wind carry the ground away.

III.

Shut tight the door the more wind blew

Thing suddenly remembered also breathlessly, tightness across the chest

The eye of wind swept me into your

Rotating quickly round and round

Swiftly pass a bridge

My body was bending down by the wind

Drooping down like wet towel across the railing

Dripping down to the swift-flowing river.

Remembering the train cutting through body of the wind

Column of smoke overturned and sound of the siren disappeared in an instant

My breath is constringent through the trumpet-reed

Glared flashing the pressure of eagle spreading wide

Raising fragile dragonfly wings

Backrest cavalier on the wind crest

Outside the vault of leaves disorder

Stirred, tattered, to satisfy the frenzied excitement

The inhibition of lust.

Figure a Patch of Grass

Together in silence listening to the white lotuses

emerging bright,

rise up into the Cintamaya-panna*

MVP.

Cadence I

*

The chamois footstep knocks on the earth

From now on the world can’t sleep

Everything’s busy, stirring in the dew of night

grassblades, treeleaves, a brand-new mountaintop

shining in the sun,

birds flying above the crags

The swift river rolling on, the rutting fish flashing in the water.

The sun shines on the other side of the wall

Under this vault of leaves, birdnests, the breath of dawn.

*

In this daybreak only I can see the rose;

the sound of birdsong wakens

thanks to the road that leads me on.

The high clouds overhead,

the falling leaf--

these least things yet the very being of being.

The corner of this quiet lane nestles, holding its breath.

The earth has changed its season.

Flowers have grown up before the posts of the handrail, their petals soft and crimson.

The stump of this ancient tree seems transparent.

It’s time for Holy Mass,

to bless the Holy Body, to ring the bell.

Tomorrow in the early morning you’ll change into the new clothes,

the tint of the velvety roses reflected in your face

Hypnotized as a gust of wind suddenly blows through.

*

The bird’s note pierces the crown of my head,

enters my body as I pass on into sukhavati**

Quietly dispels from the soul

any way back from the empty mind.

The birdcall, shadowy, flickering,

lights up each part of the body,

So it seems to me I’m flying with the whole flock of birds

my chest stretched out, choking the sound of singing.

Which bird has been hurt?

The whole forest margin beats its wings--

Where are you

The sound cuts off the rushing wind,

my mouth obeys the shape of the call.

*

Near dawn I awaken

The bell of night covers the land

Fumbling I try to push up.

There’s no place for the huge night to hang on,

I don’t know where it turns into a bell.

Melting,

Slippery

your body’s highlights kindle the candle,

you are vaguely throughout my body.

Open the eyes, the color of the black-bell

raising the siege of the light

You’re far away from the bell

Boong....

Boong...

A chrysanthemum in mid-air.

*

Go towards the end of the road

to where the storm begins

to clean the heart into purity

Only the dusty canopy

and the dry ragged leaves can know it

Can’t wait for the rain

Can’t yet see the end of the road

The wind is already floating

- Are those drops of water to baptize me?

- No, it’s the rain in the vault of leaves left stagnant from yesterday.

*

The cat so sleepy in the sunshine

yawning with half-closed eyes;

Life has inundated all intending.

I’m tired at work:

I did try out the predefined plan;

I also didn’t finish it.

Should I blame the cat

for drawing my mind into its sunny daydream?

Wake up, quick, I’ll plunge into you

and I’ll become that cat with half-closed eyes.

*

The winds are gently shaking the yellow flowers, the flower color that I like.

Sometimes there’s confusion among the wild sunflowers,

heathbell, musk-mallow, fibrous melon blossom…

Hurriedly I sketch some flowers,

the wind’s caress fluttering my hair.

I add a pair, boy and girl, each upon a tiny equal half of the peduncle;

integrating the faces, sharing a pair of sandals

It’s not clear which side the wind is pushing them.

A giant petal swings above my head

the wind softly makes the two merge into one

the tinier one trembling as in a storm.

*

The stars rise behind the sun shinine

in the window of the house

The clouds of stormnews coming

Light flashes far away

Only to think it or say it also eases the fatigue

Just now, peaceful and quiet

I was one minute to annulling the self’s hearing of itself,

looking into life relaxed and blind.

On the ethereal sky each flock of fireflies

those closer stars, will draw your eyes

(love each other, often don’t remember the face).

The work’s in a muddle again, I’m short of breath.

I linger beside the narrow door

looking at the sparkling ripples on the swift-flowing river.

It carry the meaning of “the Way”, the “philosophy of belief.” As: “The Way that can be told of is not an unvarying way; The names that can be named are not unvarying names. It was from the Nameless that Heaven and Earth sprang; The named is but the mother that rears the ten thousand creatures, each after its kind” (Lao-tzu).

Đá nhắm mắt an nhiên nước cuốn

Mấy con voọc chà vá chân xám

Lại làm bóng cây dâng cao dập dềnh

Mưa bụi bay lung tung

Thấm ướt nơi sâu kín nhất

Mây dừng nơi mây

Mùi ổi chín thơm len lỏi trong rừng

Một con nhím xù lông bất động

Hơn hết lúc này

Ai hãy ở yên chỗ đó.

Mùa Trăng

I.

Trăng đã về bên kia

Phủ lên những nụ hôn khác

Màn sương, mùi cỏ khác

Nơi ấy một dòng kênh

Bóng con thuyền nhỏ qua cầu

Bờ đá nằm im nghe mồ hôi lạ

Giọt giọt trăng khuya

Bàn tay em tìm trăng

Từng ngón đêm lóe sáng

Một con đường thanh sạch

Thức dậy làn hương

Chuỗi thanh âm tràn dâng ngày

Men theo trăng, cười nói trăng

Nghẹn thở một màu trong suốt.

II.

Vang trên mặt cỏ rối, lá cây

Nơi đại ngàn không nhìn thấy

Mặt nước giãn căng không sóng đi qua

Màu óng ả trên lưng chim bói cá

Cho anh thành vạt trăng

Anh dìu em lồng lộng váy hoa

Hôn em, ngón tay út

Nâng em lên trăng

Mưa thuận gió hoà gót chân

Trái tim rộn ràng ngực đất

Dòng trăng cuồn cuộn thân cây

Lướt nhanh nữa cho đất đai thêm sáng

Dấu chân, bàn tay anh dài theo

Hay chậm lại lắng nghe anh nói

Cả phố phường, triền dốc, cửa sông

Cùng ngô lúa đang tập cười, tập hát…

III.

Con bồ câu đã về

Mang cả buổi chiều

Kẹp trong đôi cánh

Một buổi chiều khoác bộ lông màu lam

Cổ và đỉnh đầu khoang trắng

Cùng móng chân bé xíu bước lên trăng

Ngày chói gắt và rạng rỡ

Rũ trên đóa hoa trinh nữ

Dịu dàng khép lại

Đây là thời khắc ái ân

Thắp sáng lãnh địa bóng tối

Mùa phồn sinh thụ phấn, kết hạt

Mặn nồng thiêm thiếp trăng khuya

Bó gối những gốc cây

Nhắm mắt ngọn đồi gió

Hạt giống rơi trong bùn ngấu thảnh thơi

Ngày mai mặt đất này

Và thế giới sẽ đổi khác.

Đỉnh gió

I.

Nhoài lên mỏm đá sắc

Thân thể gió trầy xước

Máu của gió là mưa

Nắng nhỏ xuống

Núi cuốn nụ hôn lên cao

Cụm mây xám đúc thành khối

Giang tay núi đạp chân vào đất

Vò nát

Xé toang thân gió

Ánh sao rơi

Buổi sớm vỡ oà

Thông thốc lên mỏm dốc

Mở mắt nhìn xuống

Những nụ hôn chồng xếp cao hơn

Gió cuồng nộ cuộn lên đỉnh khác.

II.

Tìm miệng anh gieo hạt

Gió níu chân tay đất dịu dàng

Lao xuống vực

Thổi rỗng lòng đồi núi

Ngực gió thả trôi

Vờn trên đất

Chớp sáng nứt vỏ

Mùa xuân trào miệng hạt

Chờ nảy lá mầm

Gió mang mặt đất đi

III.

Đóng chặt cửa gió càng thổi

Điều chợt nhớ cũng bạt hơi, tức ngực

Mắt gió cuốn anh vào em

Xoay tít mù chong chóng

Thoáng một cây cầu

Thân thể anh bị gió bẻ gập

Rũ xuống tựa chiếc khăn ướt vắt qua hàng lan can

Hàng lan can bên kia bông hoa

Những cánh mịn đỏ thẫm

Gốc cổ thụ cũng trong suốt

Giờ ban Lễ-Thánh-Thể rung chuông

Sớm mai thay áo mới

Ánh hồng nhung hắt lên khuôn mặt em

Thôi miên làn gió chợt qua

*

Tiếng chim qua đỉnh đầu

Vào cơ thể anh lúc đang tịnh độ

Xua đi cho lòng yên lặng

Sao về được tâm không

Tiếng chim âm u

Lập loè sáng từng phần cơ thể

Ngỡ bay cùng đàn chim

Ngực căng tức tiếng hót

Con chim nào mới bị thương

Cả bìa rừng đập cánh

Em ở đâu

Tiếng cắt gió vội vàng

Men khẩu hình anh theo tiếng gọi

*

Gần sáng thức dậy

Quả chuông đêm chụp xuống mặt đất

Loay hoay cố đẩy lên cao

Đêm khổng lồ không còn chỗ bám

Không biết thành quả chuông ở đâu

Tan loãng

Trơn trượt

Những huyệt đạo thắp ngọn nến

Mơ hồ em qua cơ thể anh

Mở mắt màu chuông đen

Khép lại vòng vây ánh sáng

Em đang xa quả chuông

Boong...

Boong...

Giữa trời một bông hoa cúc

*

Đi về phía cuối đường

Nơi bắt đầu cơn giông

Dọn lòng thanh sạch

Chỉ vòm cây rũ bụi

Và lá khô tơi tả mới biết

Nóng lòng đợi mưa

Cuối con đường chưa thấy

Gió đã nổi

- Những giọt nước rửa tội anh?

- Không, vòm lá đọng trận mưa hôm trước

*

Con mèo buồn ngủ dưới nắng

Ngáp lim dim

Đời sống ngập toan tính

Anh mỏi mệt nơi làm việc

Kế hoạch định sẵn

Cố cũng không xong

Có nên đổ tại con mèo

Mang tâm trạng anh lơ mơ dưới nắng

Choàng tỉnh vội lao đến em

Anh thành chú mèo lim dim đôi mắt

*

Gió lay nhẹ hoa vàng, màu hoa anh thích

Có lúc nhầm lẫn hoa dã quỳ

Hoa thạch thảo, hoa vông vang, hoa mướp...

Anh vội vã ký hoạ vài bông

Gió mơn man tóc bay lật phật

*

Những ngôi sao khuất sau ánh nắng

Cửa sổ ngôi nhà

Vầng mây tin bão

Ánh sáng xa

Chỉ cần nghĩ hoặc nói thế cũng vơi mỏi mệt

Vừa tĩnh lặng

Một phút tự triệt tiêu thính giác

Nhìn đời sống thư giãn mù loà

Trên cao tít từng bầy đom đóm

Ngôi sao gần hơn vẽ mắt em

(yêu nhau thường khi không nhớ mặt).

Công việc lại rũ tung, thở dốc

Nán lại bên khe cửa hẹp

Nhìn gợn sóng lấp lánh trên dòng sông chảy xiết.
