एउटा वर्षादी रातका भिन्नताहरू

वर्षा सवैभन्दा अन्तिममा आउछ

गर्जन र गडगडाहटहरू

अन्धकारमा नाङ्गै भएर नरम गोली हिर्काउछ

भूमिले आफ्नो बाँझो सुक्खापन लुकाउन कोशिस गर्दछ

तब जराहरूले हाम्रो छातीमा आफ्नो बाटो महसुस गर्दछ

हाम्रा साथैका चाहना

र सँगै हामी सम्झन्छौं

एक पात्तेदार शंकु टोपी र वर्षेकोट वा आकाशमा बिजुली

रात सबै चिहानहरूसित स्थित छ

यसको कालो कमिज अझै पनि रूखहरूमा झुण्डिएको छ

साथमा चीजहरू सेलाएका हुन्छन्

र सँगै आवाजहरू गुन्जिन्छन।

आवाजहरू हाम्रा गहिरो निद्राभित्र हराउँछन्

जहाँ अनगन्ती उल्टासिधा सपनाहरू चकनाचूर हुन्छन्।

यो चिसो, सहजतामा वर्षाको पानी पुनर्जीवित गर्न।

Variations on a Rainy Night

Rain comes at last

And thunder rumbles

Tender shoots strip naked in darkness

The land tries to hide its barren dryness

When roots feel their way into our chest

Together we desire

And together we recall

A leafy cone hat and raincoat or lightning across the sky

Night lies down with all the tombs

Its black shirt still hung in the trees

Together things cool down

And together things echo

The sounds get lost inside our deep sleep

Where countless upside-down dreams are shattered

In this cool, expanding, reverberating rain water.

Và sấm rền vang

Những đọt mầm khỏa thân trong bóng tối

Đất cố giấu đi trơ trụi khô cằn

Khi cội rễ lần tìm trong ngực.

Cùng khao khát

Và cùng hồi tưởng

Nón lá áo tơi hay vạch chớp ngang trời

Đêm nằm xuống theo từng ngôi mộ

Chiếc áo màu đen còn mắc lại trong cây.

Cùng mát lành

Và cùng vang vọng

Âm thanh đi lạc vào giấc ngủ sâu

Đang tan vỡ bao giấc mơ lộn ngược

Trong nước mưa mát lành - phồng nở - rền vang.

Krishna Prasai (sinh năm 1960) là một nhà thơ, nhà văn viết truyện ngắn. Ông có 9 cuốn sách, bao gồm các tập thơ Aanuvuti ka chaal haru (tạm dịch: Làn sóng trải nghiệm) và Gham ko bara (tạm dịch: Tắm nắng). Thơ của ông được dịch sang nhiều ngôn ngữ. Hiện ông là biên tập viên của tuyển tập thơ Nepal đương đại.

Poet Krishna Prasai (Republic of Nepal) has just sent me a bunch of poems selected by himself from my poetry book “The Selected Poems of Mai Văn Phấn” (Publishing House of The Vietnam Writer’s Association, 2015) in English version by Poet – Translator Nhat-Lang Le and Poet Susan Blanshard to be translated into Nepalese. I would like to give my respectful thanks to Poet Krishna Prasai for having spent time and devotion on the translation for my bunch of poems.

Krishna Prasai (b. 1960) is a poet and short story writer. He has to his credit 9 books including poetry collections Aanuvuti ka chaal haru (The Waves of Experiences), and Gham ko barsa (Sun-Shower). His poems are widely translated in different languages. Three languages at a time have already published with other nine literary books. He is also the editor of an anthology of contemporary Nepali poetry.
